Introduction
This is a story about the journey a young boy and his father take to the Underworld and the adventures they have along the way, adventures complete with magic, dragons, djins, and an evil King with a death-ray eye. It is a classic battle between good and evil with plenty of twists and turns before the happy ending. As the story unfolds, we see the young poet convince his busy and reluctant father to venture into a world of strange creatures, a barren wasteland ruled by a greedy and treacherous king. The father-and-son team bring with them the technical skills and scientific knowledge of the father, a Wondersmith, the creative and musical talents of his son the poet and the magic of his gifted mother to do battle with the powerful forces of fire, deception and greed in the Underworld. The story is based on an Irish myth. The story teaches us that superheroes have existed since the beginning of time and that superhero qualities may rise to the fore in unexpected ways when good people overcome the forces of evil.
In the rich tradition of tales of Ireland’s past and part of a treasure chest of Irish myth is the tale of innocence and treachery in an adventure to the Underworld to meet its evil monster King Balor with his one death-ray eye. In this story, a young boy who is a musician and poet is joined by his father, the Wondersmith, a multitalented engineer and architect, in an exciting visit to the Underworld to do battle with its treacherous king.
