Creating a Melody

The golden-haired boy, Ronan, sang the three-note poem as he carved the symbols for his notes into the trunk of the old oak tree.

His wolfhound, Conan, lazed in the sun near him, enjoying the song and the warm afternoon.

When Ronan stopped, he placed his knife aside, picked up his wooden whistle and played the tune he had created.

Feeling the magic of the summer day, he danced a jig effortlessly, his heels flying.

The infectious upbeat tempo of his song filled the enchanted green glen as he danced. Moments later, he stopped, picked up his knife and carved a fourth contrasting bass note into his song.

The summer sun warmed his skilled hands as he whistled his new song for the first time. Suddenly, the sun disappeared, and the air around them grew cold.
